Residents and the two Risco churches spent last week preparing food and lunch for the volunteer workers who worked filling sand bags in Risco for the levee break at the Baderville flood way. The Case Implement Company of Malden provided trucks for the hauling of the sand bags to the site. This is all commendable volunteerism at a time of need.

Roger Karlish of Poplar Bluff appeared in a color front page edition of the Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic last week. He was unloading supplies for the area flood victims from the Midland Church in Poplar Bluff. Roger is a former Malden residents, and a Malden High School graduate.

Bill and Nancy Green and Arden and Phyllis Tolleson spent last weekend in St. Louis.

Sonya Higgs Kelley of Branson spent last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Higgs.

The Stokeland Rehab and Nursing Center sponsored bingo games at the Malden Senior Nutrition Center last Thursday. Prizes were awarded.

Father David Dohogne of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter, conducted Holy Thursday services at St. Ann's Catholic in Malden prior to Easter on Thursday. He was assisted by Father Jose of St. Theresa's Church in Glennonville.

The Malden First Southern Baptist Church hosted a festive Mother's Day brunch at the Church fellowship hall on last Saturday morning. Following the brunch, the guests enjoyed a devotional and picture taking.

Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Cowgill visited with family and friends in Kennett on Mother's Day.

"Harold and the Boys" put on a lively musical show for the patrons at lunch at the Malden Nutrition Center last Tuesday morning. This group performs regularly at the Mount Gilead Church location.

An egg hunt was enjoyed by youngster at the General Baptist Church of Malden on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Mr. And Mrs. Jeff Krupinski and family have returned home following a trip to Chicago due to a death of their mother, Mrs. Patricia Krupinski of Chicago.

Gary Karlish has been a patient in the St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

The senior class members of the Campbell High School have returned home from their senior trip to Panama City, FL., They were accompanied by teachers and assistants.

Mrs. Emily Force of Southaven, Ms., spent Mother's Day weekend with her mother Mrs. Gertrude Haworth and friends.
