During Sunday morning services at the Malden rural Bethany Baptist Church, Mr. Veryl Riddle Senior of St. Louis, was administered the rite of baptism by Pastor Bryan Johnson. Veryl a long time Malden attorney and resident attended the Bethany Church throughout his childhood and youth. Mr. and Mrs. Veryl Riddle of St. Louis spent last weekend in Malden.
~~~~~ The spaghetti dinner held Saturday at the Bethany General Baptist Church was very well attended. ~~~~~ Mrs. Inez Pace yearly distributes handsome, large St. Louis Cardinal Schedules to Malden fans. This year 2011 she has done the same. Thanks to her son Randy Pace of Pevely, Mo. Thanks much Randy! ~~~~~ Steve Wallace has returned home following an extended stay in the Philippine Islands and Manila. In the near future he will return to Manila. ~~~~~ Mark Halford has returned home following a stay in the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. ~~~~~ Poplar St. Louis sports caster Joe Buck was the announcer at the recent Super Bowl game in Dallas, Tx. ~~~~~ Vanessa Moncrief LPN of the Malden Nursing and Rehab Home conducted blood pressure and blood sugar testing in the conference room of the senior nutrition site last Thursday morning. ~~~~~ The Malden First Community Bank sponsored a travel bus trip last Tuesday to the Giant City Lodge in Makarada, Ill. Malden folks, including pick-up folks along the way enroute enjoyed the trip. ~~~~~ The Campbell High School Beta Club and sponsors attended the annual Beta State competitions held in Branson last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. ~~~~~ A number of parents, relatives and friends attended Missouri State Beta club festivities held in Branson, Mo. last week. ~~~~~ Allyx Pheiffer celebrated her 11th birthday anniversary with a skate party for her friends at the Campbell Uptown Skate party Saturday afternoon. Relatives also attended. Birthday cake and punch was served to all the guests. ~~~~~ The Fox News TV out of New York City mentioned the possibility of earthquake in our New Madrid fault area. ~~~~~ Poplar Bluff's Ben Hansborough appeared on television as the conference player of the year. Ben plays college basketball for the University Of Notre Dame. |
