Apartment living

Posted Monday, January 31, 2011, at 9:19 AM

Living in the city there are several options for where you lay your head. It may be a house, apartment, condo, loft or a hotel type apartment. For the last 10 years I have been living in an apartment. There are the perks such as not having to mow your yard or if you need something repaired you just call the maintenance person. If it snows, you never have to shovel your driveway or sidewalk, and in the summer you have the pool that you never have to buy chemicals for or have to clean.

Now you know there had to be the down side of this living too. For me personally, I have had neighbors that have been perfect angels. I never heard them or barely saw them. Then I've had the neighbors that had parties all night long, EVERY weekend. Or the neighbor that knocked on our door everyday to borrow everything from a cup of sugar to the spare tire for our car, not joking either. As of present, I have a neighbor that lives above us that apparently has a 3 year old that is training for a marathon of some sort. We know when they are home just by hearing this kid running from one end of their apartment to the other. Most of the time it doesn't bother me, then there are times that I just want to pull my hair out of my head.

One would think that the property management would not move a family that has small children to the top floor. Or how about the parents telling the kids that they are going to get in trouble if they keep making noise. I am literally at my wits end. I have talked with the property manager and they said they have sent them a "nice" letter regarding the situation.

Now don't get me wrong. I do not want to ruffle any feathers, especially of my neighbors. That's too close of quarters for people to have problems. I like to get along with folks.

So, here is my question to you all. What do you think I should do? Please post your suggestion below, and maybe it's the answer for which I have been searching.
