The Randy Houser concert was a very good show from the opening band, The Inman Brothers, to the last song played by Houser.

Going in to the concert, I wasn't sure how well I would like all of the songs that Houser played. I only knew three songs before the show, which were "Boots On," "Anything Goes," and "My Kind of Country." Out of the three I knew my favorite was "My Kind of Country," which he played early in the set. As the show continued, I began to realize that I was enjoying every song, although I had never heard the songs before. Several of the songs, Houser noted, that he had just recently written, which was very impressive for the quality of the performance.

At one point in the show, the entire band took a break except for Houser and a lone acoustic guitar in his hands. This was one of my favorite portions of the show because Houser just let his blues style pipes do the work for the crowd. After witnessing his performance live, I can say with certainty that I am a fan of the music that Randy Houser creates.

Also in the show was the opening band, The Inman Brothers, who were very talented and entertaining by themselves. It would have been a treat just to watch this band perform without the follow up of Randy Houser. One of the singers for The Inman Brothers voiced an interest in playing at the Delta Fair this fall. I don't know if this will happen, but if it does I encourage all to attend the concert because you will not be disappointed.

To end the show, Houser played a new song which I guess will be called "Whistling Dixie." The song was very good and ended the show with a band. Following his performance, Houser came out to sign autographs for the fans who had purchased his merchandise. I had asked a friend of mine, Andy Braden, to attend the concert with me because he is a big fan of Houser. Since I had Andy with me, I decided to buy a pink shirt for my wife, Erica, and daughter Adyson. After I purchased the shirt I decided to have it signed. As I approached Randy Houser with my tiny pink shirt, which was probably too small to fit on my arm, he laughed and said, "Man that's gonna look good on you." I just laughed along and then told him that I planned on putting it on as soon as he was finished signing it.

All in all the concert was a fantastic time and Randy Houser was a very nice guy, along with being a very talented musician, song-writer, and singer. Many times during the concert Houser noted, that Kennett was his kind of place because it reminded him of where he grew up in Mississippi. He also commented on how he and his band had been getting "eat up" all day by the mosquitos.

This is Joshua Payne and remember news happens fast, but we're faster.
