Mexican citizens quarantined in China! Really? So in 2009, we are still unable to treat each other with respect in the world. I thought China was supposed to be a smart country. If they were they would realize that Mexicans are not necessarily more inclined to have H1N1 (Swine Flu). Just because this outbreak of the illness has supposedly originated from Mexico does not mean that anyone with Mexican heritage is a risk to the rest of the population.

This would be like Ireland being the source of a threat and me and my family thrown into isolation because my heritage transcends from Ireland.

Americans have deadly diseases such as AIDS, but no one quarantines these people to make sure they are not infecting the population.

China handled this issue completely wrong and I cannot believe that this decision was made towards the Mexican people.

Everyone travels to Mexico and could be carriers of the illness, not just Mexicans. The illness has now progressed to several states in the United States and would it be handled the same if 140 Americans were separated and quarantined in China. I don't think it would have been looked at as lightly.

China officials get your act together and think about your decisions and actions.

Everyone has an opinion and this is my place to vocalize my own. In the series of 'Speaking the Truth' I will be voicing my opinions on activities that I believe to be right or wrong. Remember these are my opinions and I am not forcing anyone to agree with me.

China a smart country? What is a smart country? Plus, are you not at all familiar with China's history with human rights violations? Not to mention the fact that countries do take steps towards limiting and even stopping travelers from African countries with a high rate of HIV-AIDS. Although, that can hardly be compared to quarantine.
