In Conclusions

Posted Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 2:59 PM

Jumping to conclusions can be a very easy way to put your foot in your mouth. In most cases things assumed aren't always what they seem.

Circumstances can differ and reasoning should be considered before judging. All people deserve the benefit of the doubt, and who are we to judge one another.

Conclusions should be arrived upon once valid proof has been discovered.

These are conclusions like...

Q: Why wouldn't that guy say 'excuse me' for bumping into him?

A: Because he is rude

There are several other options besides being unkind, such as, he's mute, he doesn't speak English, he is very ill and doesn't realize the bump, or he didn't even bump into you, you imagined it.

Another conclusion could be

Q: Why is he talking to her, he's married?

A: He's having an affair.

Other options, she's his sister, she's a long time friend, she's his financial advisor, she's in trouble with the Mafia, he's the Mafia, or she found Jimmy Hoffa.

As you can see there are so many answers to find in situations, but everyone wants to jump to conclusions. Why, because it is easy. Also, jumping to conclusions makes great gossip in a small town atmosphere. By the way he was talking to her because he is an international spy.

Don't jump to conclusions...unless you are really, really sure.

Have you ever slummed over at Kennett Topix?

They don't jump to conclusions there, they sky dive sans a parachute.
