Star Moments

Over the last two or three weeks I have covered many of the political stories here in our area. Many of our Missouri state politicians have been in our area speaking on the election and endorsing candidates.

As I have been meeting the different politicians such as Senator Claire McCaskill, former senator Jean Carnahan, and Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, I have reflected over the different celebrities I have met over the years.

One of those celebrities is the former NBA star Charles Barkley. Barkley was outside of Bush Stadium in St. Louis after attending the World Series. I ran into Barkley, and at first only noticed the size of the man. Afterward, I reallized who he was and briefly spoke to him. He was in a hurry to beat out the crowd so did not have very much time.

Another celebrity I have had the opportunity of meeting is Nigel Lythgoe. Lythgoe is the executive producer of the hit show American Idol. I met Lythgoe in Memphis, Tenn. at the American Idol tryouts. He was an extraordinarily nice man and laughed and joked with the crowd of people around him. He individual introduced himself to several people in the crowd and took a moment to conversate with these individuals. I happened to be one of the individuals Lythgoe spoke to individually.

These are a couple of my star moments in every day life. Feel free to share your comments and stories on this topic.
