Rainy Day Blues

This is Joshua Payne. I am new to the newsroom and to blogging in general. I am going to put forth a great effort to make this blog as interesting and fun as physically possible.
Off we go into the world of blog! Sometimes I wonder if everyone else is as tired as I am on a rainy day. It's not that I hate the rain, it's just that I feel so sleepy whenever it comes around. I wake up in the morning and remain in my bed without even seeing or hearing the rain and I can feel it. Some people say they can feel it in their joints because of arthritis, well I feel it in my head. I have the hardest time waking myself on a wet, stormy, sour day. Not only does the rain make me tired but there are so many inconveniences that come with the rain. For one I am a satellite subscriber and my signal is lost almost everytime a person breathes in the direction of the dish. Also, the way the bottom of my pants get wet as a I walk across the soaked ground along my daily routine. Usually this comes into play when I return home, after slipping out of my shoes, my socks will become wet from the back of the bottom of my pants. All in all a rainy day has many disadvantages. There are many advantages to the rain as well but it makes every day functioning so irritating. How do you guys feel about a rainy day? I would love to hear your comments so drop me an e-mail. What a cute topic! Let's see if I can add anything...
My uncle Seymour used to say that the air felt "soft" on a rainy day. My aunt laughed at him, but I understood. It was such a sensitive observation for a rough 'n tough Teamster.
I like to sit on the front porch during a summer rain. I also like the sound of the spring peepers, singing by the pond. It's so peaceful - only now I have a crimped gutter from where a tree limb fell on it, and the rain makes a racket that reminds me I need to call the gutter man. So much for peace and quiet.
Good luck on your blog, Joshua Payne. You're beginning a bold new venture into still waters... Maybe you can stir them up a little...
Hi Josh,
You think its burdensome, but I would trade places with you in a new york minute!! It rarely rains in Southern California, just as the song says, but when it does, I find I am first bewildered since i dont seem to know what that sound is, then when I do realize it, i usually jump for joy!!!!! Sometimes I've even ran outside and stood in the rain and praised God for his goodness! Funny...the things one misses when they are sooooo far from HOME as Michael Buble would say....HOME
Hi Joshua,
Welcome to the DDD. I wish for you a successful career. Now to the rain. I have an awning outside my bedroom window and I love to hear the rain as the drops fall softly on the canvas. I admit the sound allows me to make the choice of staying in bed a little longer or getting up to face the day. After a nice rain the grass appears to be greener and the flowers a bit brighter. So, I invite you to hike up those britches or step in a puddle on purpose and enjoy the rain.
Joshua, look what you did! All that talk about rain brought it on!
I did not mean to call on the rain but I did think the same thing when I woke up this morning.
Welcome joshua
What a timely subject. Give me a warm comforter, a good book and I'm a happy camper when the rain comes.
I love rainy days & nights but I do not like to get wet.I like to hear rain on the roof of my house, car, sidewalk. It makes flowers grow.Simply put, I like rain!!
Hello Josh. I've just become a first time reader of your blog and hope that your future will be a great experience in learning all there is to know about the newspaper business. Maybe, someday, you may even be working for the New York Times or the Washington Post. I really like a good storm and I once shook hands with JFK. My best to you.
