Ladies and Gentlemen, this one comes in sections...

Section 1: A Formal Apology

I would like to take a moment to issue a formal apology to anyone who was offended by my use of the word "elderly" in an article from Friday, Feb. 27.

I would like to clarify that I do not think people in their 50's are elderly (especially my mother) and it was an oversight on my part. I am only human and mistakes are part of our nature.

I will take all comments regarding the issue to heart and will watch my wording a little more closely in the future.

Again, I apologize.

Section 2: I've gone from 2 to 4

For those interested, I have recently shelved my contact lenses (did you know I wore contacts) and purchased a new set of glasses (the last set I purchased was in 1998-1999).

The reason? My contacts have started to give me some serious eye irritation and I figured I should give them a break.

So for a (yet undetermined) while, I will be sporting 4 eyes.

Section 3: Giving credit where it's due

It has recently come to my attention that people are not giving the appropriate credit where it is due in regards to CLGW's work following the ice storm.

I have written two stories (one on the power plant and one on the water department) trying to emphasize that it was more than just the line crew who worked their tails off to get the city restored to normal.

I just think that if people are going to thank the line crews, they should also thank the other CLGW employees (water, power plant, office workers, Internet crews, etc.) as well as all of the volunteers and city administrators (basically, to make it easy, any time you see ANYBODY, tell them "Thank You" because there is a good chance they did something for all of us during the disaster) for all of their hard work as well.

If no one else will, I will.

THANK YOU ALL!! MY FAMILY AND I APPRECIATE YOUR SACRIFICES.

Section 4: Get Geek!

Who out there considers themselves to be a geek. I do.

I am an electronics geek. I like electronics and research them regularly, especially mobile devices.

My current mobile device, the at&t Tilt (which is actually manufactured by HTC and just branded at&t) has recently been taken off the list of available devices from at&t.

It has been replaced by the highly anticipated (at least by us mobile geeks) HTC Fuze (also known as the HTC Touch Pro).

The Fuze features a Qualcomm® MSM7201A 528 MHz processor with 512 MB of ROM and 288 MB of RAM (basically meaning that the phone will be fast and very functional).

The Fuze features a Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system with HTC's TouchFLO 3D (very finger friendly and quite nice) interface on top (Thanks to my pals at XDA Deveopers, I have been able to place a custom ROM image on my Tilt that gives me TouchFLO 2D (making it a very modern device)) .

Throw in a sliding 5-row QWERTY keyboard and a GPS chip and you have one sick device.

The Fuze also comes with Bluetooth 2.0 with enhanced data rate and A2DP for stereo wireless headsets, WiFi, and a TV Out jack, it is definitely a device for the mobile professional (or anyone who likes awesome PDAs).

Pretty Sweet!

On a side note, HTC recently unveiled the Touch Pro 2 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month.

The Touch Pro 2 features all the glory of the Touch Pro 1, with added bonuses including a tilting Screen like at&t Tilt, a 3.6 inch TFT-LCD touch sensitive screen with 480x800 WVGA resolution, and a zoom bar (As Borat would say, "Very Nice!")

The TP2 will also come with an upgraded Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.

No word yet on when the TP2 will come to America, however, rumor has it that it could be available around November 2009 on at&t (fingers crossed).

BTW, I am an HTC enthusiast. More Get Geek next time.
