From the Desk-HonestyPosted Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at 3:31 PM
I went to watch "The Dark Knight" at the Kennett Cinema last night (Tuesday, July 29, 2008), when I witnessed a very honest act.
As I was waiting in line to get a refill of popcorn, the gentleman in front of me informed the lady he purchased his ticket from that she had given him back his change two times and he gave her back the extra money. Now it probably wasn't but just a couple bucks, as it only cost $8 for him and his date to get in, but this was a very honest thing to do. The cashier was very thankful as I overheard her say she was $20 dollars short the night before. Had she been short again, she could've probably lost her job. So this got me to thinking. Here was a guy, probably not over 23-years-old, who was doing what was right. How many of the rest of us would have given the cashier back a couple of dollars? Maybe a better question would be; How many of us have received something by mistake and never said a word about it? I don't know if the gentleman was just trying to impress his date or if he's genuinely that honest, but he should be proud of what he did. If the rest of the world would be that honest, imagine how much better thing could be for the all of us. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

I've always been honest. When we see others who are honest, I think it is a shame that it actually shocks us that some people are honest! I really think what goes around, will come around. I just rather play it safe and live a moral life.
Thank you for the post. It is nice to hear of such honesty in our young, because all we ever seem to see or hear from the news media is the bad, never the good.
